Early Life in Bellingham, Washington

Jacob Wentz was born and raised in the picturesque city of Bellingham, Washington. Nestled between the stunning Cascade Mountains and the serene waters of Bellingham Bay. Bellingham has a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. Originally a hub for the logging and coal industries, the city evolved into a vibrant community known for its natural beauty, progressive values, and thriving arts scene. During his schooling, Jacob discovered a passion for painting. He later found his passion for woodworking further in his career. Transition to Utah and the Beginning of a Woodworking Journey

After completing his education in Bellingham, Jacob moved to Utah, seeking new opportunities and a change of scenery. Utah is renowned for its diverse and breathtaking landscapes, making it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and artists alike. The state's terrain ranges from arid deserts to lush forests, with dramatic geological formations that captivate the imagination. The rugged landscapes and vast wilderness of Utah provided a new source of inspiration for Jacob. It was here that he discovered his passion for woodworking, an art form that allowed him to combine his education with his creative talents.

He began his journey into woodworking by experimenting with various types of wood. Building furniture around the house. From coffee tables to dining tables, chairs and other forms of furniture. He later found a passion for carving Cedar Wood spirits and animals; Something recognized in Washington. His work furthered moved towards wood turning where he found the beauty of Utah Juniper. He’s most known for his Juniper Vases with turquoise inlay. Each piece tells a story, often inspired by the landscapes and natural beauty he encounters during his outdoor walk-abouts.

Jacob's workshop is his sanctuary where he can fully express his creative ventures. It is a space that allows him to work with various mediums including wood, oil painting and sculpting. This versatility enables him to explore different forms of artistic expression and push the boundaries of his creativity. Jacob believes that creating is an essential part of life, a passion that evolves every day. He continues to learn and grow, finding joy and fulfillment in the act of creation.
